A Painting of Watercolor and Acrylic on cold press paper. The Legend of the Gray Man has been part of Pawleys Island, SC Folklore for many years. The legend goes that the gray man was once a resident of Pawleys Island and he died on his way to visit his love in hopes that she would marry him. He was said to have died by sinking into quicksand. He was then forever doomed to wander the island looking for his lost love. The main Legend, however, states that the Gray Man (Sometimes referred to as the 'Gray Ghost') oftentimes appears right before a major hurricane strikes Pawleys Island. He will appear near a certain house or homes and legend states that the home(s) to which he appears are thereby spared of the hurricane's destruction.
I am a 63 year old professional musician (pianist) who came into the visual arts at a later age. I very occasionally drew portraits in pencil and charcoal for many years on my own, occasionally exploring pastel painting. I began to paint consistently in May of 2013. Now I work mostly in watercolor painting and iPad Art. My main interest is beauty and following whatever process that leads me there, whether it's watercolor or digital.
